Support Groups

Pathway Counseling Center offers a variety of groups that provide support and accountability.  All groups are held in the strictest of confidence for the care and nurture of its members.

 West Wichita support group

2nd Thursdays  7 p.m.

Cancer Support - West Wichita

Meets the 2nd Thursday of each month, 7:00-8:00 p.m. in Room B-012.

For each person diagnosed, cancer is a unique experience. No two people will travel the same journey during and after cancer treatment. How people cope after being diagnosed, during treatment, and afterward is also different for each individual. One common thread in all people with cancer is the need for a good support system.

The Cancer Support Group at Pathway Church is a chapter of Victory in the Valley, Inc. This group offers emotional and spiritual support not only for cancer patients, but for their families and loved ones as well. Our group helps to provide a safe and compassionate environment to discuss emotions and connect with people who truly understand your situation.

Click Register button to participate. For more information about the Cancer Support Group, contact Counseling Director, Todd Nickel, in the Pathway Family Counseling Center, 316.722.8020 x128 or Ann Yerrick  x116.

as a result of your experience

Child of Mine

Meets the 1st Tuesday of each month, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in Room B-012.

The loss of a child is one of the cruelest blows that a parent can suffer. It is an out-of-order process that brings consuming pain and grief. With this grief, bereaved parents experience a wide array of frightening and intense emotions. All of these emotions are normal and natural. It is important for bereaved parents to understand that while they will always feel the pain and loss, the intensity does decrease with time.

The Child of Mine Support Group at Pathway Church extends understanding and support for parents and loved ones - by parents and loved ones who have experienced a similar loss. Our group provides parents an opportunity to share their feelings with others in a compassionate and safe environment.
